Your birth plan should be a reflection of the discussions you have been having with your birth team. Your birth plan also reflects the choices that are most important to you. Flexibility is key during your labor, birth and of course parenting. Creating a positive birth plan demonstrates your willingness to be flexible during your labor and birth.

Notice that these birth plans are only 1 page and the word “no” is not used. Positively stating your preferences in a concise fashion will help your birth team meet your needs.
