Class Dates: 2/4, 2/11, 2/18, 2/25, 3/3, 3/10 and 3/17

Classes are typically held once a week for 6 weeks with the exception of the 2 Day Weekend Accelerated Series.  Class size is purposefully kept small to create a comfortable and enriching environment.  A harmonious mixture of lecture, experiential activities, demonstrations, and videos create a lively & instructional class setting.  Joyful & Informed Natural Childbirth is a comprehensive class series focusing on the following areas: Healthy Pregnancy Choices, Natural Labor & Birth Options, Stages of Labor & Birth, Coaching a Laboring Woman, Newborn Issues and Family Advocacy.  Joyful & Informed Childbirth classes are perfect for first time expectant couples, couples preparing for a VBAC and couples hoping for a more natural experience after a medicated/medical birth.  Class are packed with evidence based information and Kim’s first hand doula experience of supporting 500 couples through labor and birth.

6 Week Wednesday or Thursday Series   Class Fee: $300.00. A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot in class. The deposit is payable by paypal. Class fee includes the Joyful & Informed Workbook, access to my lending library and online resources. Scholarships available upon request.

2 Day Weekend Intensive   Class Fee: $300.00.  A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot in class. The deposit is payable by paypal.  The class fee includes a workbook, access to Kim’s lending library and online resources.  Scholarships available upon request.  The Weekend Intensive class meets on Saturday evening from 5:30pm – 9:30pm and on Sunday from 10:00am to 5:30pm.  This is a fast past comprehensive class is only for the adventurous couples ready to pack in all the necessary information.  Classes will be kept small to meet the needs of each couple.

When Should I Take A Class? Choose a class series that is just right for your estimated due date by taking a class that begins after pregnancy week 12 and before pregnancy week 32.

3 Week Refresher Class Series Fee:  *$300.00 payable by check or cash to Kim Martino-Sexton.  Class fee includes a Joyful & Informed Refresher Workbook, access to my lending library and online resources.    *Kim’s Childbirth Class Alums $200.00 

4 Week *VBAC Class Series Fee:  $300.00 payable by check or cash to Kim Martino-Sexton.  Class fee includes a Joyful & Informed  VBAC workbook, access to my lending library and online resources.

Class Location: Classes are held at Red Key Reality, 10333 Clayton Road, Frontenac, Mo 63131.  Across from the Bread Company, Brick Tops and Brio restaurants.

Week 1 – Healthy Pregnancy Choices/Preparing the Birthing Muscles/Birth & Postpartum

Week 2 – Overview of Labor/Medications Used in Labor & How to Avoid Them/Management Techniques

Week 3 – 1st Stage of Labor/Coaching/Packing/Typical Labor Augmentations with Natural Alternatives

Week 4 – 2nd Stage Labor/Recovery/Postpartum/Going Home

Week 5 – Birth Plans/Labor Rehearsal/Newborn Family Life 2.0

Week 6 – First Weeks Strategies For Newborn Parents/Breastfeeding/Postpartum Support
